Sheff Utd 2-1 Nott'm Forest
Matthew Lowton scored a late winner as Sheffield United came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest and register their first win of 2011.
Forest took the lead in the first half when Dele Adebola smartly turned his marker and fired past Steve Simonsen.
Daniel Bogdanovic missed a penalty for the Blades after he was fouled, but they levelled when Sam Vokes rifled in.
The hosts got the winner 10 minutes from time when Lowton rose highest to head in a Stephen Quinn corner.
The result is Micky Adams' first victory since taking over as manager of the Blades after his first 13 games in charge failed to produce a win, and gives the hosts hope that they can still avoid relegation to League One.
Forest are trying to escape from the Championship at the other end but they are in a terrible run of form with no wins from their last five games, and Billy Davies's men - who were second a couple of weeks ago - are in danger of losing their play-off spot.
It had started well for the Reds and after Marcus Tudgay fired wide they went in front just before the interval as Adebola tucked home six yards out.
But United hit back after the break and Richard Cresswell scuffed a shot wide before Bogdanovic was brought down by Chris Gunter in the box, the striker picking himself up only to see his poor penalty saved by Lee Camp.
Forest brought on new loan signing Kris Boyd but the Blades had all the momentum and they equalised when on-loan Wolves striker Vokes broke into the penalty area and slid a low shot past Camp.
There was more to come for the Bramall Lane faithful when Quinn swung over a corner from the left and 21-year-old defender Lowton planted a header beyond Camp's despairing dive.
